Purpose: Import gift cards that have a PIN (card numbers and PINs) in bulk. Only imported cards can be sold at the POS and used in store and online. For: owners, managers (needs the Gift Card Import permission).
Before you start: Ordinary gift cards (no PIN) don’t need importing; staff just enter the card number when selling (see 1.11.1 How to sell a gift card). PIN cards must be imported first (official release notes, 2026-01-09). PIN gift cards are imported by the merchant; the account doing it needs the Gift Card Import permission.

Notes / FAQ #
-
Set amount to 0 (value is added when the card is sold), and set salesStatus to 0 (available) for cards to be sold at the POS. Duplicate card numbers are rejected and can’t be imported twice.
-
Keep the file with the PINs safe and don’t forward it after importing.
-
For paying with a PIN card, see 1.3.3 How to pay with a gift card.
